Camana Bay’s newest building 60 Nexus Way, offers retail opportunity

Next fall, Dart will make history as it welcomes tenants to Grand Cayman’s first 10-storey commercial structure, 60 Nexus Way. Ebanks explains that the convenience of nearby parking and the connectivity of lushly landscaped footpaths will create an easy sense of arrival that gives way to shopping and café on the building’s ground floor. Inside, the grand lobby transitions seamlessly to ample offices on the upper floors and a rooftop terrace with unobstructed views of the North Sound and Seven Mile Beach.

“This is another example of placemaking at its best,” says Ebanks. “With 60 Nexus Way, Dart is creating a multi-use building which allows people to thrive at work in the day and stay and play into the evening.”

With leasing currently underway, 60 Nexus Way offers retail prospects over 9,000 square feet of highly visible, efficient and flexible ground-floor spaces each with direct access to 438 surface parking spots, an expertly landscaped rooftop terrace and lush covered outdoor space perfect for hosting events. Ebanks says this is the perfect opportunity for a food and beverage operator to capture the attention of the more than 2,500 people who live and work in Camana Bay every day.

Camana Bay is home to over a dozen original restaurants, bars and cafés, making it a popular culinary mecca and social hotspot on Grand Cayman. The town is host to over 30 shops and services, providing visitors everything from dry cleaning services to luxury jewellery and from high-quality deli offerings to international designer fashion brands.

“It’s exciting to hear new food and beverage and retail ideas for 60 Nexus Way,” says Ebanks. “A few include quick-service cafes, blow-dry bars, barbershops, sophisticated lunch spots, happy hour venues. There is certainly an appetite for new amenities that offer convenience for Camana Bay’s workers and visitors.”

When 60 Nexus Way is fully leased, daily foot traffic to Camana Bay is estimated to increase by approximately 1,000 people, a promising number for any new retail business. Additionally, the expansion of the Dart portfolio of properties—which includes Kapok, a new for-lease residential building in Camana Bay, and the recently completed OLEA community—will contribute to an increase in the Town Centre’s visitors and vibrancy. Eventually, the phased reopening of the Cayman Islands borders as part of the country’s COVID-19 safety and recovery plan will result in the gradual return of stayover tourists, many of which have historically invested vacation time enjoying the many amenities Camana Bay has to offer.

The retail units at 60 Nexus Way will range from approximately 1,300 to 2,500 square feet with a dedicated 2,200-square-foot food and beverage space. The option to combine units and customise each space to suit a retailer’s, café, bistro or bar’s original concept is available.
