Ken Dart is the owner and sole shareholder of Dart Real Estate, a Cayman Islands investment, development and management company. Dart Real Estate has developed more than $1.5 billion in mixed-use, residential, commercial, recreational, educational and hospitality properties throughout Grand Cayman and has committed to an additional $400 million investment in the next decade.

Ken Dart and his family first visited Grand Cayman in the late 1980s and fell in love with the island and its people. Recognising the opportunities Cayman could offer, both as a place to make their home and base their businesses, he opened a small investment office in Grand Cayman in 1993 with a single employee, Mark VanDevelde, who is now Chief Executive Officer. That investment office grew to become the base of Ken’s global operations and home to his family office.

Renowned for its thoughtful design approach, Dart Real Estate is Dart’s investment, development and management company with more than a million square feet of built assets within a diverse portfolio, including the master-planned, mixed-use development of Camana Bay.

Dart Real Estate also manages five properties in central George Town including commercial, retail and parking; Regatta Office Park; the Cayman Islands Yacht Club; and the residential neighbourhood of Salt Creek and the Waterways apartment complex. In addition, the 26-acre Dart Realty nursery propagates and supplies native plants and trees for all of its developments.

Dart Real Estate’s portfolio is growing with the addition of Seven Mile Beach properties, including the Kimpton Resort + Spa and The Residences at Seafire and an upcoming five-star resort and residences.

In addition to its real estate portfolio, Dart owns and operates a number of retail, restaurant and entertainment businesses related to Camana Bay and its George Town property interests. These include Cayman Distributors Group and its retail outlets, Island Companies, Regal Cinemas and Books & Books.
