Countdown to Kimpton Seafire Opening
With just over two months remaining before the Kimpton Seafire Hotel + Spa opens, Cayman’s first new hotel in a decade is receiving its finishing touches. DECCO will hand the keys over to the Kimpton team this month as they welcome their staff, get operating supplies ready and prepare to check in the first guests early November.
Local Access Road to Sundowner + White Sands
Following execution of the 3rd Amendment to the NRA Agreement and the legal closure of West Bay Road north of Kimpton Seafire, we are focusing on master planning a resort district to be anchored by a five star hotel and residences. DECCO has commenced work on a local access road to the Sundowner and White Sands condominiums. As is our custom with new developments, our team surveyed the area and identified native and endemic shrubs or trees for safe relocation to the Dart Nursery.
Camana Bay Pedestrian Underpass Taking Shape
Cayman’s first pedestrian underpass south of the existing Camana Bay roundabout is well underway and beginning to take shape. The Camana Bay Link will facilitate safe passage beneath the Esterley Tibbetts Highway, allowing you to walk or cycle from Camana Bay and the Cayman International School to the National Gallery and the Harquail Theatre, as well as to the new sports facilities planned on the west side of the highway.
Minerva Parking Lot Work in Progress
Work on the Minerva Avenue parking lot commenced this month to facilitate the continuing construction for the realignment and extension of the Esterley Tibbetts Highway. The project will continue for several weeks and is not expected to impact normal usage of the lot, traffic flow or pedestrian experience.
