We closed out 2016 with our rebrand to Dart Real Estate and this beautiful new website. We celebrated the opening of Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa, launched the sales of The Residences at Seafire and submitted plans for Camana Bay’s next phase of infrastructure. We are grateful for having had a great year in 2016 and know, with all the plans we have, that 2017 will be an amazing year.
THE RESIDENCES PARTNER WITH MARTYN LAWRENCE BULLARD
Cayman raised the stakes in luxury travel on 15 November with the official opening of Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa. That same day, we launched the website of The Residences at Seafire, 62 neighbouring upscale and modern residences that share Seafire’s 12-acres of tropical gardens, pools, beachfront, restuarants and amenities. We also announced a partnership with Martyn Lawrence Bullard who will design The Residences’ public spaces including its rooftop lounge, The Nest. Twenty-five percent of the residences are contracted; to learn more about owning a piece of Seafire, visit seafireresidencescayman.com.
CAMANA BAY WESTWARD EXPANSION CONTINUES
We recently submitted plans for the next phase of infrastructure development at Camana Bay, which includes a pedestrian and bike path ramp over the Esterley Tibbetts Highway vehicular underpass as well as a second underpass along West Bay Road. The elevated section will begin immediately to the west of Books & Books and the Cayman MAC store and the road improvements align with our vision for a walkable community at Camana Bay. BEACHROCK TRIAL COMPLETE
On 7 December we removed a trial area of beachrock just north of Seafire, the site selected for a five-star resort and residences. The trial was coordinated with the Department of Environment, who were on site to observe along with a marine biologist and coastal engineer. Our approach was carefully planned and included enclosing the site with a specially sourced silt screen to minimise impact to the surrounding area. We consider beachrock removal in accordance with our long-term commitment to sustainable development. CAMANA BAY TIMES RELAUNCHES
As part of our celebrations for Camana Bay’s 10th anniversary this year, we are relaunching the Camana Bay Times for a special one-year series in 2017. As a community newspaper, it will highlight the people, businesses, events and happenings at Camana Bay with regular sections including Environment & Sustainability, Life & Leisure, Children & Families, Sports & Fitness and a photography spread called “Magic Moments”. The first issue will be out this week.
BISMARCKIA WAY
Bismarckia Way, the new Camana Bay road off the Century 21 roundabout, has officially been named after the beautiful and bold Bismarckia palms that will line its streets. Known for their striking fan palms, Bismarckias are similar in colour to the silver thatch palm and are among the favourite flora of the Dart family. Tree planting will take place in the upcoming months.
