Investment Alliance
We’re committed to making smart infrastructure choices that support the people and places in the Cayman Islands and help our community to prosper. Our development, delivery and infrastructure team has been applying reason, logic and innovation to reliable infrastructure solutions for the last decade.
In 2012, Dart and the Cayman Islands Government formed a partnership, the For Cayman Investment Alliance, to invest in infrastructure projects and revitalise the economy. We committed to creating new public roads to connect our communities, upgrading pinch points for traffic congestion, widening and landscaping the Esterley Tibbetts Highway, creating underpasses and building the Airport Connector Road to alleviate traffic to the south of Camana Bay. We also donated new land and invested US$20.5 million to the government for education, housing and community programmes. We stimulated the economy and created tourism and construction jobs by building Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa, and we committed to creating a state-of-the-art energy recovery and recycling centre to transform the national issue of solid waste management in the Cayman Islands.
ReGen
A cleaner, greener Cayman
Let’s talk trash. A multimillion-dollar project is underway to the turn the George Town Landfill site into a green space that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 23,000 tonnes a year. Alongside, we’re building a state-of-the-art waste-to-energy facility that will improve recycling and turn materials that aren’t recycled into electricity to power our homes and businesses.
In partnership with the Department of Environmental Health and the Cayman Islands Government, Dart has signed a 25-year contract to design, build, finance, maintain and operate ReGen, a new integrated solid waste management system that will generate enough electricity to power over 2,000 homes and businesses in Grand Cayman. The new facilities will allow more things to be recycled, processing green waste, metal, household waste and construction waste and will have the capacity to divert up to 95% of our waste from being landfilled. We’re proud to create a cleaner, greener Cayman Islands today and for future generations.

A thoughtful philosophy of master planning. In the spirit of innovation and sustainability, we're looking forward to the sustainable Cayman of tomorrow and working to create a framework for the years ahead. We're drafting a plan that allows flexibility but gives careful thought to utility infrastructure, transportation, open spaces, public service and environmental management and supports the mixed-use resort and residential neighbourhood planned for this area.
In 2021 Dart submitted an application for Planned Area Development (PAD) to connect the lands east and west of the Esterley Tibbetts between Governor's Harbour and Yacht Club and to give predictability and certainty to the nature of future development of this area. A future residential neighbourhood would be anchored by Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa to the west and the Cayman Islands Yacht Club and marina to the east.
