Dart Real Estate announced today the submittal of a Coastal Works application for partial removal of beachrock immediately offshore the area north of Kimpton Seafire and Tiki Beach, a site which has been identified as the preferred location for a five-star resort and residences. The exposed beachrock protrudes along the shoreline and impedes beachgoers’ ability to enter the sea and swim.
In our most recent development update we discuss partnering with Martyn Lawrence Bullard in the design of The Residences at Seafire’s public spaces, Camana Bay’s continued westward expansion, the completion of the beachrock trial, the special relaunch of the Camana Bay Times and the naming of Camana Bay’s newest road, Bismarckia Way.
Today, Dart Real Estate removed a small area of beachrock in the waters off Seven Mile Beach, in coordination with the DoE who were on site to observe. An excavator was able to easily remove sections of the cemented sand for a geologist to study and confirm as beachrock and to inform on the development of a removal methodology that is safe and least impactful on the marine and beach environment.
