The Cayman Islands’ biggest commercial real estate developer and the driving force behind Kimpton Hotels’ first Caribbean property, Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa, Dart Real Estate is taking a shine to the hotel business and has its sights set on more. Under the leadership of founder Ken Dart, the company over many years has developed more than US$1.3 billion in mixed-use, residential, commercial, recreational, educational and hospitality properties throughout the Cayman Islands and is on the cusp of developing a second hotel property, a 5-star resort located on Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach.
Dart has spent more than US$800 million in developing the Camana Bay Town Centre, which presently consists of some 700,000 square feet of office, residential, retail and other commercial space.
Dart Realty, one of the largest developers in the Cayman Islands, proudly unveils its newest property: the Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa, Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman, the boutique hotel brand’s first Caribbean property, and The Residences at Seafire.
Dart Realty has found success – and a long-term investment model – with a massive master-planned development in the Cayman Islands, Camana Bay. The bigger vision behind the project is to ensure the Cayman Islands’ position as the continued financial center and destination of choice and to create a community that offered a certain quality of life that other Caribbean destinations could not match.
In the 20 years since Kenneth Dart bought the land that has become Camana Bay, Dart Realty (Cayman) Ltd. and its associated companies have also been involved in many other real estate and development activities on Grand Cayman.
Most people know the Dart family made its money, at least originally, as the company that first manufactured the foam cup. However, many people don’t know how the Darts ended up with so much investment in the Cayman Islands.
Camana Bay has ‘gone back,’ to create a future revolving around community. Embracing intimate, mixed-use neighbourhoods, the new town’s nostalgic return to traditional values cultivated with human scale and proportion at its core has schools, shops, civic facilities, parks and entertainment.
